Expanding Access to Surplus Mining Machine Parts

In mining and heavy equipment operations, availability matters just as much as quality.
Downtime caused by delayed component sourcing can impact production schedules, increase operating pressure, and create unnecessary strain across maintenance and procurement teams. As equipment fleets continue operating longer and global supply chains remain under pressure, access to reliable surplus parts has become an increasingly important part of modern equipment support strategies.

At CapiParts, we continue expanding our surplus product ranges to help customers source quality components across multiple major equipment platforms — including CAT, Bell, Liebherr, Komatsu, and Cummins applications.
More importantly, we are continuously investing in the systems, sourcing networks, and product databases that make finding these components faster and more efficient for our customers.

What Surplus Means in Today’s Industry

Within the mining and earthmoving industry, surplus parts are already widely understood.

The real value lies not simply in the product itself, but in access.

Strong sourcing networks, accurate systems, supplier relationships, and technical understanding all play a role in helping customers locate components that may otherwise be difficult to find through traditional channels.

That is where experience matters.

CapiParts continues strengthening its sourcing capabilities and expanding its product visibility to help customers identify opportunities across a growing range of surplus inventory categories.

Growing Our Product Coverage

As part of this continued expansion, over 18 000 additional part numbers have recently been integrated into the CapiParts system.

This growth supports improved visibility and sourcing across multiple surplus product ranges, helping customers identify compatible components more efficiently and with greater confidence.

To streamline identification across ranges, dedicated prefixes are used within the system:

  • BE = Bell
  • LE = Liebherr
  • CU = Cummins

Komatsu and CAT-related ranges continue using standard numbering structures.

These systems are designed to simplify the sourcing process and improve speed and accuracy when identifying parts across different machine platforms.

Supporting Smarter Procurement

Mining operations today require flexible sourcing strategies.

Procurement teams are constantly balancing availability, lead times, machine requirements, and operational priorities. Access to expanded surplus ranges provides additional flexibility when planning maintenance, repairs, rebuilds, and fleet support.

At CapiParts, our focus remains on helping customers source the right parts through a combination of technical understanding, strong supplier relationships, and continuously expanding product visibility.

The goal is simple:
Make sourcing easier.
Reduce delays.
Support uptime through smarter access to components.

Building a Stronger Sourcing Network

As the industry evolves, sourcing capability has become a competitive advantage.

CapiParts continues investing in the relationships, systems, and product expansion needed to support customers across Southern Africa and beyond. From growing our internal databases to expanding surplus product access across multiple equipment categories, the objective remains the same, helping customers find the components they need, when they need them.

Because in mining, availability changes everything.
